This program seeks to honor those drivers who have upheld the field of solid waste management as an honorable occupation and who have conducted themselves and operated their vehicles in a safe and responsible manner. Hall Of Fame

The Environmenta Industry Associations' Hall of Fame recognizes leaders in the waste industry who have distinguished themselves through significant contributions to the solid waste industry and their community and have been actively engaged in the business for at least 25 years. More information.

NSWMA Awards

Distinguished Service Awards

Distinguished Service Awards will be made to longstanding members of NSWMA who have rendered service in pursuit of its mission and goals over a period of time, generally spanning a number of years. The award is presented to recognize the highest spirit of volunteerism and involvement, personal integrity, professionalism, and performance in an honorable and ethical manner.

Member of the Year Awards

The Member of the Year will be selected based upon extraordinary service to the mission and goals of NSWMA and the industry over the last 12 months. The award need not be presented each year, but only when a qualified candidate is nominated. The award is presented to recognize the highest spirit of volunteerism and involvement, personal integrity, professionalism, and performance in an honorable and ethical manner.

Special Governor's Awards

The Special Governor's Award will be presented to members whose contributions to a chapter over the last 12 months, or over a period of time, were particularly meritorious. This award often goes to an individual who is a "go to" person. The award is a way of saying that we want this person to remain active in NSWMA with the expectation that he/she will develop leadership and receive other awards in the future.
