NSWMA Member Benefits
NSWMA was established in 1962 to help its members succeed by providing advocacy, networking, and information. Today, NSWMA continues to provide serrvices and benefits to for-profit companies in North America that provide solid, hazardous and medical waste collection, recycling and waste disposal services, and companies that provide professional and consulting services to the waste services industry.
Advocacy
NSWMA represents the industry before local governments, state legislatures and regulatory agencies, Congress and federal regulatory agencies (EPA, DOT, OSHA).
In addition to participating in NSWMA's national programs, members have the opportunity to participate in state chapters, networking with other companies in your state or community regarding a variety of advocacy matters. Find out about state chapters here.
NSWMA members get the opportunity to participate in the EIA "Environmentalists. Every Day." educational program. Members get a communications grassroots tool kit and can access PR and media-relations assistance through the program. Companies also can be featured on our website. Members also have access to regularly-updated online materials, posters, promotional items, and more.
Networking Opportunities
NSWMA’s events are the place for industry leaders to network with their peers and discuss business issues. Members receive discounts on WasteExpo admission and exhibitor fees and are invited to attend/participate at other NSWMA/WASTEC events.
NSWMA members are eligible to participate in a variety of Councils and Institutes and other EIA programs, including the EIA Women's council, the EIA Future Industry Leaders Alliance, the EIA Driver of the Year Program, and the EIA Hall of Fame.
Information
NSWMA staff provide members assistance and information to help improve their safety, efficiency and profitability. Members get discounts for some training manuals.

- The Legal Bulletin is a quarterly publication, which analyzes recent court decisions of industry importance.
- EIA produces periodic research bulletins providing in-depth analysis regarding the latest technologies and issues facing the solid waste industry.
