(Washington, DC) – The National Solid Wastes Management Association (NSWMA) recently announced that it is offering free, trial 3-month association membership to companies that join the NSWMA-endorsed insurance program. The NSWMA insurance program is designed for waste service companies including solid waste haulers, transfer station and recycling operations, landfills and other related businesses. W.R. Berkley Corporation (an A+ or better/AM Best rated, American-owned insurance company) will provide the coverage.

NSWMA partners with AmWINS Program Underwriters in offering this program to the industry through independent agents and insurance brokers. AmWINS has more than 20 years experience specializing in solid waste industry underwriting.

The goals of this program are to provide solid waste companies with:

  • A premier insurance company (A+ or better/AM Best Rating);
  • A benchmark program, incorporating comprehensive coverages required by the industry in a very competitive package; and
  • Dependable access by local agents, to allow for continuation of important local, face-to-face service for participants.

Regarding this trial membership offer and the insurance program, NSWMA President and CEO Bruce J. Parker stated, “We’re proud of our endorsed insurance program. Solid waste companies have the opportunity to receive industry-customized insurance at a very competitive price and reliable and friendly service by agents. We also are confident that solid waste companies when given a chance to experience the benefits of NSWMA membership will immediately see its value and join the association.”

Eligible companies must be new to both the insurance program and NSWMA membership.
