EIA Releases Applications for 2012 Driver of the Year Awards

Program Honors Drivers Committed to Safety, Quality, and Service

WASHINGTON, D.C. – On October 4, the Environmental Industry Associations (EIA) released the application for its 2012 Driver of the Year Awards (DOY). The prestigious DOY Awards honor those drivers who have upheld the field of solid waste management as an honorable occupation and who have conducted themselves and operated their vehicles in a safe and responsible manner. The nomination deadline is Friday, December 2, 2011.

Since the program was started, each year, EIA has honored drivers in the following categories: Small Company Commercial, Small Company Industrial, Small Company Residential, Large Company Commercial, Large Company Industrial, Large Company Residential, and Public Sector.

All DOY nominees receive a gift package and certificate of appreciation. Finalists also receive a personalized plaque. The winner in each category is honored in person at WasteExpo, and receives a commemorative gift and $1000 cash prize.

The EIA Driver of the Year program is underwritten by AmWINS and Berkley Environmental.

The Environmental Industry Associations (EIA) is the trade association that represents the private sector solid waste and recycling industry through its two sub-associations, the National Solid Wastes Management Association (NSWMA) and the Waste Equipment Technology Association (WASTEC).
