Making the Waste Industry Safer
NSWMA and WASTEC and their members promote industry safety as a core value. We work to make the trash collection, processing and disposal less dangerous activities by encouraging safety training and the proper maintenance of equipment. NSWMA and WASTEC offer a variety of safety videos, training materials and programs to help employers and employees reduce fatalities, injuries and accidents. We also work to encourage driver safety around garbage trucks and collectors to create a safer working environment. Learn more about that program here.

- New Release: EIA Women?s Council Announces Scholarship Winners
The Environmental Industry Associations Women?s Council announced the three winners of the Women?s Council Scholarship Program, which recognizes outstanding students with an interest in solid waste and environmental industries. Each winner will receive a $5,000 scholarship to the school of their choice. Read full release here.
EIA is the trade association that represents the private sector solid waste and recycling industry through its two sub-associations, the National Solid Wastes Management Association (NSWMA) and the Waste Equipment Technology Association (WASTEC).
